Green Knights Economic Development Corp. Supports Blue Mt. Community Library
For the last five years the Green Knights Economic Development Corp. has supported the Blue Mountain Community Library with funds realized from the generation of electricity at their plant in the Pen Argyl area. The Plant uses methane gas from the Waste Management landfill. The gas is pulled from through pipes leading to the cells. The gas is pulled through the pipes with vacuum pumps. The output of the vacuum pumps is compressed and burned as fuel in several turbines that closely resemble jet engines. The Corporation, a not for profit corporation, then sells the electricity through contracted vendors. The money collected from the sale of electricity pays all the expenses for the generator plant. Any money not used for operation of the plant is put back into community. Each year a portion of the funds is committed to education. Over past four years a portion of that funding has been given to the Library. The Board of Directors of the Library wishes to thank the GKEDC for their continued support.

Our Mission

It is our mission to improve the intellectual and cultural life in the Pen Argyl School District. We need your support to continue that effort. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we operate the library with minimal funding from the municipalities we support. Please visit the library often to browse our expanding collection, or to find details about how YOU can help provide a valuable service to your community.
