Greetings to all and welcome to
my little corner of the web! These pages originally started as a small
project listing the names of all the people who lived in South Bethlehem,
PA in the year 1890. Now, 99% of all names in the county are listed. That's
approximately 84,000 names. This list does not include all the information
you would normally find in a U.S. Census. The names are presented in a Directory
format. Actually, the information contained here is taken from a Census Directory
that was published by Joseph H. Werner in 1891. It lists the "inhabitants
of Northampton County as furnished by the Census Bureau at Washington, D.C.
in the Eleventh U. S. Census, 1890". Since most of this census was burned
in a fire, we are very lucky to have this. Please note: the information
listed for each family includes all the data available. There are no additional
facts. All available information has been included and copied exactly as
it appears in the directory. As time goes by, I hope to fill these pages
with many "goodies" and make your visit here very informative and enjoyable.
This will be a work in progress for a long time. Please bookmark this
site and check back often.

SEARCH
FOR NAMES FROM 1890 TO 1916
You can check out a great new service
that is offered by
the Bethlehem Public Library.
This service allows you to
search a file that provides a "selective index to obituaries
and other biographical articles appearing in the Bethlehem
Globe-Times newspaper" during the time period from 1890
to 1916, and from 1966 to the present. If you find the
name you're looking for, you can contact the library and
request a photocopy of the article. |

ONLINE CEMETERIES
Many of the communities that are listed here also have old cemeteries that
are online. One of the major sources of information for these cemeteries
can be found at Tiana's very informative
Genealogy In
Pennsylvania pages. Lots of information! You may also

In both the Civil War
and the American
Revolution, the
men of Northampton County fought bravely and honorably.
If you had family living in the county during those times,
you may find their names listed on these great pages put
together by Nikki Roth-Skiles. |

We now have four angels! Many thanks to
Judy Bivens for volunteering
her time and also to Rebecca
Hinnerschietz for her typing efforts. We
have Billie Jo Rothstein to
thank for all her help and Susan Walters
kindly donated her time.
