May 4, 2002 - Animals in Distress Pet Walk (Rain date May 5)
Arrive 10AM to sign in - Walk begins at 11AM
The Rose Garden, Allentown, PA
This is a terrific event. You can take your dog for a nice walk and help raise money for a truly worthwhile cause. Our pets can help raise funds to support Animals in Distress. Animals in Distress is a "No Kill Shelter" program to help lost or abandoned
pets until they can be placed
in a new home. They are provided with food, shelter, and veterinary care as needed. The Rose Garden is a beautiful park with clean facilities and pavilions. The walking path is approximately a mile to a mile and a half on an easy level path. There are
short cuts for those who need or prefer them. Donated refreshments are
available to all participants (including the dogs) both before and after the walk. Take a nice spring walk with your dog, and remember, if your dog could choose an event they would like to take part in, this might just be the first one they would
pick.
May 5, 2002 Dinner Meeting - Sunday evening 5:00 PM
City View Restaurant - McArthur Road near the big LV Shopping Center Allentown, Pa
May 11, 2002 - Benefit Walk for Parkinsons Disease,
Rodale Park, Trexlertown, PA
This is a great event. You can take your dog for a nice walk and raise money for a worthwhile cause in the process.. We walk our dogs on pristine paths through a beautiful park setting. They even provide free drinks along the way. There are longer routes
and shorter routes to choose from, but they are all very easy, shaded, and basically level. Donated refreshments are available to all participants both before and after the walk. This is a fun event and we always have a nice turnout. Take a look at the
folks who came out last year.......

A good time was had by all. The 2002 Walk promises to be even better.
May 17 - 19, 2002 - May Daze at Lehigh Valley Hospital
Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, PA
We take turns manning our exhibit, answering questions, and handing out packets of information about the program. We just hang out together, raffle off baskets of doggie treats, and let people meet our dogs and enjoy them. It's a lot of fun. And it's
really amazing how many people stop by at this event. Bring a portable chair to be more comfortable.

A lot like our May Daze event. We just hang out together,
......... and let people meet our dogs and enjoy them. We all bring baked goods and donate them to the hospital for their bake sale. Bring a portable chair to be more comfortable.
October - Halloween Parades
Each year we walk in a Halloween Parade or two. To date, we have marched in Halloween Parades in Allentown, Bethlehem, Emmaus, Lehighton, Nazereth, and Northampton...... We put together a small float or two and take a nice walk with our dogs. Some of
our members dress their dogs in really ingenius costumes. It's good exercize and a lot of fun. Last year we were in the parades in Emmaus and Bethlehem. I don't recall the count for the Bethlehem Parade, but I remember that we had more than 50 dogs in
the Emmaus Parade and we won nice prizes in both parades. Here are two photos of our prize winning floats from last year. Our theme was "The Land of OZ"........

Details for this years Halloween Parades will be posted as they develop. Don't miss the fun!
