Free Home Site Edition of BWOpinion Oxidant Safety Materials The BWOpinion Web Site may soon shift to focus on social/political items. The downloads below allows a "home site" version of the oxidant safety items on this web site to be installed on your own PC. This is desirable for the following reasons:
You may install copies of the Home Site on as many PCs as you wish and even those that are not connected to the WWW will still provide most of the same functionality, except that any links to the WWW will not work.
ASTM Committee G4 has been approached to establish a Home Site PC Utility like this and has been offered this site as a starting point.
To download the Home Site, click on the first link below (this compressed file is about five MB long and will load in twenty to thirty minutes by 56k modem). Then click on the homesite.exe file to unzip the self-extracting file. It will ask to create and place the files in a new folder, C:\BWOHomeSite, for the files and you should accept it or change it and then click to unzip. Then create a shortcut to the file "BWO Home Site.htm" Double-clicking on this shortcut will bring up the Home Site in your Browser, and make all of its self-contained files except one available. Be sure to check "What's New" to see the recent list of changes and if you are connected to the Internet, all of its new net links will be available also.
If you wish to include a copy of the last file, the FLLAME PC program demonstration slide show (which is 14 MB compressed, 50+MB decompressed), click on the second download. This file may take an hour or more to download by 56k modem. Double click the .exe file it provides to decompress it and have the file placed into the BWOHomeSite folder. There is a link already provided for it in the BWO Self-Publications section.
And you should request copies of the six Air Products' Self-Publications from Joseph Slusser and save them to this "BWO Home Site", folder also if you want the links included to actually launch these papers.

- The oxidant safety items have been expanded and updated and reorganized for somewhat easier use. A "What's New" section overviews the changes.
- The Home Site archives these materials (and even some linked material) on your PC whether or not the Web Site is ever dropped or certain of the linked items are altered.
- After download and one-time decompression, the algorithms launch directly without further decompression or installation required. Future updates will revise and add files.
- Access is faster than possible over the Net especially for those using 56k phone access, and access is possible for most items (except for third-party Net links) even when there is no connection to the net.
