Justin Hayward's Musical History

Timeline (1963 - 1996)

• Entered music professionally at the age of 16
• Joined Marty Wilde to form the Wilde Three, 1965 (age 18)
• First solo singles, "London is Behind Me" and "Day Must Come" 1965
• Releases "I Can't Face the World without You", 1966.
• Joined the Moody Blues in 1966

Continued releasing chart-topping and musically challenging works with the Moody Blues through 1973

• Released the tremendously successful "Blue Jays" with fellow Moody Blue, John Lodge in 1975

• First solo album, "Songwriter", 1977

• Enters the charts again in 1978 with "Forever Autumn" from Jeff Wayne's "War of the Worlds"

• Nightflight, his second solo album released 1980
• The Moody Blues release their smash hit album, Long Distance Voyager, with Hayward-penned hit "The Voice"
• They release their 1983 album, The Present and have success with "Blue World"
• Third solo album, Moving Mountains, released 1985
• 1986 #1 album, The Other Side of Life released by the Moody Blues with Hayward hits such as "The Other Side of Life" and "Your Wildest Dreams"
• Sur La Mer released by the Moodies in 1988 with single, "I Know You're Out There Somewhere"
• Hayward teams with Mike Batt to produce Classic Blue in 1989
• Keys of the Kingdom released in 1991 by the Moody Blues with Hayward hit, "Say it with Love"
• The Moody Blues record "A Night at Red Rocks" with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra in 1993
• The Moody Blues box set, Time Traveller released in 1994
• October 14, 1996 Justin celebrates his 50th birthday!

Other Achievements

Awarded the coveted ASCAP award for songwriting.

With the Moody Blues, achieved more than 50 platinum and gold albums around the world.

Has written title songs for movies such as She and The Howling IV and for television, the theme to Star Cops (along with Tony Visconti) and Shoe People.
