Married to my wife Dorothy since Aug 1975. Have two sons, Dan at Penn State and Tom at Lynchburg College in VA. My wife and I enjoy camping in the Pocono Mountains of Pa., cooking over wood fires, dining out and just each others company. We also enjoy cruising the Atlantic and the Caribbean and hope to cruise to the Med in a few years. Hope you enjoy the little I have on this web site for now. ![]() Grew up in Hellertown, Pa. Graduated from Saucon Valley High School in 1971 and enlisted in the Navy. Went to Boot Camp at the Great Lakes in January of 1972,then to Radioman "A" school in Bainbridge, Maryland from April 1972 thru August of 72. Then came USS Denebola AF-56. Made numerous Med and North Atlantic Cruises, along with a GTMO cruise for as the NAVY says refresher training. Left the Navy upon return from my last cruise from October - December 5th or 6th of 1975. Became interested in Amateur radio when a good friend Frank (W3IYG-SK) and Carl - AA3IX were talking about it at a church function, we were cooking breakfast. They told me about classes given by the DLARC (Delaware Lehigh Amateur Radio Club). That's all it took and the desire to learn. Thanks to many others like N3JAF (Norm) and N3JGX (Dave) for helping me pass the 20WPM code test with practicing nightly on 10 mtr CW. My shack has a Yaesu FT-1000D w/SP-5 from my late Elmer's estate(W3IYG), a Navy AN/URC-35 HF 100 WATT transceiver,(got that at Dayton Hamfest in 1997), Alinco DR1200T 2mtr, MFJ-1278B Multimode TNC, MFJ-434 Voice Keyer. Antennas include a Mosley TA-33 up 40 FT, HyPower 40/80 dipole and a 160 mtr sloper. Been a ham since December 1993 with my first call of KB3AZR. Made Extra in two years and changed my call to K3MP with the luck of the vanity call.
