THE 2008 GAP GALLOP CENTURY
Sunday, October 5 (new firm date)
The Gap Gallop’s great scenery, varied terrain and lightly traveled roads make it one of the most enjoyable centuries in the Northeast.
The 100 mile route crosses the Kittatinny Ridge (Blue Mountain) at Little Gap in Danielsville, then meanders for miles through the heavily wooded and sparsely populated countryside north of the mountain.  The Gallop returns via the Delaware Water Gap, where the Delaware River makes a spectacular cut through the ridge.  A 68-mile option crosses Little Gap with the 100, but returns through Wind Gap.  Riders always appreciate the predominately downhill final 25 miles of both routes!
There is also a 50 mile option, which runs along the south side of the Blue Mountain without crossing the ridge.
Cue-sheets from 2007 are available on the Cue-Sheet Menu page.  The route will be the same if there are no changes because of closed roads.

- Ride begins at Northampton Community College (NCC)    Map to NCC
- Cue sheets and Freshly marked roads
- Check points at 25/50/75 miles with snacks, drinks, bathroom facilities. Note: the 68 mile route reaches the 75 mile checkpoint at 44 miles.
- Clothing drop at 25 mile checkpoint - your leg warmers, etc. will be returned to the finish.
- NO RAIN DATE - the Gallop will be held rain or shine
On-line registration is at www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=7088
There are no application forms on our website, no mail-in registration.  Either register on-line or at the event.
