| Hi Paddlers!
A gorgeous summer
in autumn Sunday, the LVCC once again
supported the Walnutport Canal
Fest by offering free canoe rides for
Fest-goers. A huge thank you to Bob Brunda
and Don Harris for coordinating the club’s
effort. Thanks also to Don, Dave, Tony,
Ian, Bill, Edna and Chris for helping over
a hundred (all afternoon there was a long
line of people looking forward to
paddling…maybe two hundred or more…maybe
thousands..) people experience a canoe ride
on the Lehigh Canal.
Thursday
November 1st 7pm –
General
Meeting
Lehigh Valley
Red Cross Building.
Free First Aid
kits to all who attend! Okay, that’s a
lure (but we will have the kits) to get you
out for our elections. The following
positions are open…all of them! Folks we
need your involvement. At our last meeting,
we had only a handful of people show up.
This is your club and we are proud that it
is a very active organization. Your present
officers need you to step into their
booties. These booties may be a bit funky
from long term wear, but the present owners
are willing to share secrets on keeping them
fresh. So, we need a President (we do have
someone wading in the water for this one),
Vice-President, Recording Secretary,
Membership Secretary, Treasurer, Program
Coordinator, and Trip Scheduler. We need
your ideas, enthusiasm and energy. Don’t
let the LVCC down. A few forward strokes on
your part are in order!

course it’s BYOB.

February 9th Fifth
Annual Film Festival !!!!!
It is
time to renew your membership!
For those of
you who have not heard, we lost our dear
friend, John Schneller, last Saturday…..
John
will be dearly missed by me and the LVCC. He
gave so much to the club, and to the overall
sport of kayaking. Most recently, we have
John to thank for the spirit behind our
August party, the initial force behind the
Film Fest, and the establishment of the
Lehigh Lovers, who helped to attain the much
improved water releases from the Lehigh.
John in a multitude of ways exemplified the
best of paddles sports leadership. The sport
is richer from his involvement.
We extend our sincerest condolences to
John's son, Tom and to John's family and
friends.
