Autumn is traditionally a time of gathering, reuniting, and socializing. Kids get back to school. Families plan gatherings. Groups of like minded individuals come together to share their mutual appreciation of their favorite activities. We, the boaters of the Delaware Valley Area, have such an opportunity this Friday evening, October 24.2003. Two nationally recognized figures in the sport of paddling will be in attendance at the Annual Dinner and Meeting of the Delaware Valley Division of the American Canoe Association. Those persons are Pam Dillon, Executive Director of the American Canoe Association, and Virgil Chambers, Executive Director of the National Safe Boating Council. These folks have been paddling for many years. They have done very cool stuff. They will be very interesting. Further they will be there not to lecture, though they will have something to say, but to meet and chat with us, local boaters. It's at the Brass Rail in Allentown, PA from 6:30 to 10:30 PM. The ACA provides an important service to paddlers across the country, and the local DVD board works very hard to preserve a two way connection between local paddlers and the National organization. Don't miss this rare opportunity to reunite with your friends in the paddling community, to meet Pam and Virgil, and to show your support for the local DVD/ACA workers. Call Bill Amey at (215) 536-8964 for details and to reserve a spot.
