Jerry's Toast

For many years, I was perplexed why I was the married brother.  Ron
had charisma, I was dull.

I never got in trouble in school.  I remember when Ron was in fourth
grade and was kept after school for misbehaving.  Fortunately for Ron,
I had never walked to or from school by myself.

When I heard that Ron could not walk me home, I started crying and
screaming.  Well, as my own children can attest, if you scream loud
enough, adults might just give you what you want.

My big brother was let out so that he could walk me home, and so that
the school could have some peace and quiet.

I remember years later, Ron finally got an e-mail account.  He confided
that it was not to stay in touch with his brother, but to stay in
touch with a woman, whom he had met at Musikfest in Bethlehem.

Of course, that woman was Deb.  In addition to seducing him to the
benefits of the internet, she seduced away his allergy to cats.

Finally, in much the manner of my own wife, she convinced Ron to get
married.  Thus, Ron's life is now complete: he uses the internet, he
likes cats, and he is married.

To paraphrase the great philosopher Jimmy Carter: for a man to lust
in his heart is normal; however, being married is a decision that
there is a person who is worth being committed to.

Congratulations Ron and Deb, you have found each other.
