Purpose:
 
The Bangor Slater Athletic Hall of Fame honors indiviuals and teams of distinction, establishes pride and preserves the tradition of the Bangor athletic programs by honoring those who have made significant contributions to the athletic program in the Bangor Area School District.
 
A member of the Hall of Fame can include:
 
1. Player
  • Must be a graduate of BAHS or have left school for an honorable reason.
  • Must have graduated or left 10 years prior to selection.
  • Must have demonstrated a distingusihed achievement in athletics.
  • Can be either living or deceased.
2. Coach
  • Must have demostrated an unusually high degree of success relative to the same sport. Sucess in the program is not necessarily measured by wins and losses.
  • Has coached the same sport for 5 full seasons.
  • Retired from coaching.
  • Can be either living or deceased.
3. Any other individual who has made a significant contribution to promote Bangor High School athletics.
 
4. A BAHS varsity team that has earned an outstanding accomplishment, which may include a team championship, undefeated season, or any unique recognition not earned by another team in its respective sport. Nominations for this honor will be accepted 10 years after the team distinguished itself.

The maximum number of individual inductees per year shall not exceed seven. 

Membership of the selection committee

 
The committee will be created and chaired annually by the assistant atheltic director and will be supervised by the athletic director.
 
The committee will consist of:
  • The assistant athletic director
  • a school board director
  • a head coach
  • a school district administrator
  • a member of the alumni association
  • four members of the community with knowledge of Bangor High athletics
 
People may be assigned to the committee each year.
 
Who May Submit Forms?
 
Complete nomination forms can be submitted by anyone. Send completed forms to the athletic department before the meeting of the selection committee- usually the second week in August. Nomination forms are avaliable from the Alumni Association (Patty Snoddy) or by calling the Athletic Department. Once a person is nominated his or her name stays in nomination permanently.
