The Slater Star Award
The Star Award, presented by the Bangor Area High School Alumni Association, recognizes achievements and/or contributions to society above and beyond the classroom. The award was first given in 2004 and has honored at least one student every year since then.

The plaque in the above picture was unveiled in 2007 at the Annual Alumni Association Hall of Fame Banquet by
F. Scott Stinner and Travis Saveri. The names of all of those receiveing a Star Award will be engraved on the plaque and it will be placed in the school loby near the 1885 Club plaques.
