"Who do you say I am?"

Terms that are not found in the Bible, " Trinity", "Triune God", "God the Son", God the Holy Spirit".

One of the reasons that I changed my mind about the trinity is found in Rev 3:14; Col 1:15;and John 3:16. These are three of the many scriptures using three different words (in English and in the Greek) that shows Jesus did not have a eternal past as God would. ( Rev 2:14). Jesus was the BEGINNING of God's creation. Col 1:15 He was the FIRSTBORN of all creation. Rev 3:14 Also he is God's ONLY-BEGOTTEN Son. John 3:16 He had a

 (1) beginning (2)was born (3)was begotten.

Greek words:
(1)"Arche"- origin, beginning [same word in John 1:1 `In the beginning.']
(2)"Prototokos"- first bring forth, bear, produce.
(3)"monogenes"- one come into being, generated.

Some say these words mean to show a special position of Christ status-wise, not that he came into existence. Even if we choose to except the "position" or "status"- he still came into existence. "Figurative", or "literally" the being born, or BEGOTTEN, a generating still occurred.

Hebrews 13:8 says, `Jesus was the same yesterday, today , and forever.' "Yesterday" being finite as apposed to forever or infinite. Actually, there are no scriptures that say Jesus has an eternal past as they do of Jehovah.

There are scriptures that say there are beings greater than Jesus (Greater than God?) John 14:28, Hebrews 2:9. Jesus did not know the day or hour of the end. Mark 13:32 God does!

Some feel that since God and Jesus share common qualities that makes them the same. For instance, Jesus is called a savior. Luke 2:11 God is also called savior. Isaiah 49:26 therefore `Jesus is God'. The problem is, others are called savior also, 2 Kings 13:5, Neh.9:27, Ob. 21 for a few, does that make them God?

Jesus is called King of kings and Lord of Lords, but so was Nebuchadnezar, does that make him Jesus? Dan. 2:37; Rev 17:14 Jesus said he was the salt of the earth, so are we the salt of the Earth , does that make us Jesus? Jesus said that "I and the Father are one", but he also prayed, "that they may be one just as we are one." John 17:22 Was Jesus praying that we should become God? Jesus does have a lot in common, since he was made in likeness of God. If some one makes a chair in likeness of an antique chair, it is still not the original chair, or not even an antique chair, though that newer chair may have a lot even in common with original chair.

When Jesus asked Peter "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered " you are the Christ the Son of God ." Mark 14:61

John wrote in his Gospel "These things have been written down that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ the SON of God." John 20:31 This is what I believe and hope many more will too!
