Hancock Creek Letterbox, Worcester, VT

The box is not at the top of the mountain, however continuing the hike is recommended as the view from there is spactacular and worth the effort.

Travel north out of Worcester and turn left on to Minster Brook Rd, then right on to Hampshire Hill Rd .

Follow this some distance up hil to Mountain Rd and look fo rtrail parking signs.

Leave thecar and follow the blue blazes perhaps 1/2 mile.

Look for a large triangular rock on the left side of the trail. Directly opposite this is a beech tree with a blue blaze and an "M" carved on the trunk.

Stand on this rock and head west, toward the sound of th ewater.

Arriving at the cascading stream, look for a young split yellow birch tree at the end of a large rock promintory, then head up stream bearing 18d for about 100 ft.

Look for a dead spruce whose trunk and roods form an "L" atop a large boulder iver looking the stream

From this tree bear 72d as the bluejay flies to two large white bircches.

The box lies at the base of one under two flat rocks.
