Lock Ridge Museum is a unique museum dedicated to the anthracite iron industry. Visitors may tour the rebuilt furnace room, the engine house, and cast house originally constructed by the Thomas Iron Company in 1868. Exhibits illustrate how iron was made over one hundred years ago. Numbered signs enable visitors to guide themselves on a walking tour of the site. The museum is administered by the Lehigh County Historical Society.

Start on the east side of the furnace and take the path by the red railing in the northerly direction as it curves around to the right. Continue along this path, over a bridge, past a big open field on the left, then look for the big black rock by the right side of this path. What's that behind and underneath the rock?

We planted this box in memory of our friend Gail Ferguson who passed away recently. Her memorial celebration was held today in this lovely park.
