This is a painting by Janice. I've admired her work for years. Her paintings, to me, are like the first strokes made at Lascaux, color field, abstract rolled into one. They are like rune painted on atmosphere. She is a dynamo (and that's a GOOD thing.)
In 2003, she is in her second year at IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) working on an MFA degree. Always working, she has just finished a group show at the Forland Gallery in Pittsburg. She is teaching an undergraduate class in advanced drawing.
