Camp Biff 2002 Memorial Day, family reunion
The new screening on the porch looks GREAT!
The lawn was long, so Randy and I decided to mow the lawn. He used the Camp Biff lawn mower, and I used the Camp Biff weed whacker, and then used my personal leaf blower to clean up. I broke a sweat. (Note to self for planning: Do all strenuous work just before you leave, not when you get there!)
And speaking of 'whackers', there was a BAT on the back porch Sunday night! It was flying figure-8's over our heads, and dive-bombing us. We propped the door open and it flew out and came right back in. It did that a couple of times.
Mom was not happy.
I said, "Too bad we don't have a tennis racquet." And it turned out that Randy had a old broken one in the truck.
After about 3 swings, I back-handed that little bugger right out the door and whacked it half-way across the yard.
Mom, Kay, and Randy were all impressed, and we left the racquet up there for "future Biffer's"
And now for the Photos:
Mim at the outhouse. If you ever had doubt about outhouse etiquette: Remember to close the lid when you are done. I told the story of the perfume bottle. If you leave the lid 'up' when you are finished, it's like an open perfume bottle. If you close it, there is less smell. K told us about Chlorox spray bleach, and how she called the '800' number on the back of the bottle to make sure she could use it to wipe down an outhouse. The woman on the other end of the line (What line? K was using her cellphone from the outhouse!!) told K that it might make the wood lighter, and then told K about using baby wipes instead of a shower, while camping. She said, "Two baby wipes equals one shower!"
K and Lee are cooking at the stove.
K told the story that she learned to cook on this stove
when it was in Rosa Guinther's kitchen in Bally.
She remembered she first boiled potatoes for her Daddy.

The girls, Marissa, and Stephanie, in the cold stream.
Never mind that this is run-off from an iceberg 1/2 mile upstream,
these girls were after boys who had just gone thru the pipe under old 402.
Group Shot.
