Kat’s Guide to the Elements

Elements are the forces that influence the character.  Each Element controls certain traits, internal and external as well as the relationship with the actual Element itself.  (E.P.G. is the Everway Players Guide from the box set.)

AIR

“Determines Intelligence, Speech, Thought, Logic, Analytical Ability, Oratory and Knowledge,” “Determines how well a hero can communicate, work with letters and numbers, make plans, and solve problems.  Air rules reading, writing, geometry and mathematics"(p92 E.P.G)

Elements and Levels

The Levels of the Elements go from 0 to10.  The higher the Level, the better, in a twice as good kind of way.  Thus a character with  3 Levels of Air will lose a chess game to a character with 4 Levels of Air every time.  A character with 5 Levels of Fire will always win a race against  a character with only  4 Levels of  Fire.

Human Average is 3 Levels of any given Element.  NPC's are normally placed at the Human Average in Elemental Levels having a combined point value of 12 Levels of Elements.  Spherewalkers have 20 Character Building Points to spend on building their character.  Since the cost of each Level of Element is 1 Character building Point, then it is possible for a Spherewalker to have a 5 Levels in each of the Elements. (20 Character Building Points divided by 4 Elements equals 5 Levels per Element)  That would be a powerful hero indeed.

The Chart Below Breaks down the numbers into the Elements and gives some examples of what you could expect having an Element at that Level.
