1. The earth receives heat from the sun by radiation (the transfer
of heat by wave motion).
2. Radiation from the sun takes approimately 8 minutes
to reach the earth.
3. Radiation from the sun is called Insolation. "Sol" being
Latin for Sun. About 45% is visible as sunlight. 46% infrared.

3. Scattered thunderstorms: 16% to 45% of area or line.
